I am a recent graduate of The Evergreen State College with a Bachelor's degree in Fine Art and Education. I plan to enroll in a graduate education or teaching program (MeD or MiT) in the next year or two.
Experience
I have years of ESL teaching experience and literacy training with children grades 1-6, as well as experience teaching high school ceramics. My strengths are in the Humanities and English language; history, social studies, political science, psychology, sociology, written and verbal communication skills, grammar/punctuation, critical reading, comprehension, academic or essay writing, creative writing, study and organizational skills, and interpersonal communication. I have 10+ years experience with elementary aged children, 5 years of tutoring high school students and 2 years tutoring college level writing I have a passion for education and life-long learning and I'm thankful to have honed a natural talent for teaching and learning with others. I love working with children and families and I approach my work with students from a humanistic and holistic perspective. I have many years of training in Non-Violent Communication and I excel in areas of conflict mediation and facilitating group cooperation.
